A real rustic cabin in the woods! This cozy chalet-style A frame with a bunkie comfortably sleeps 5. Nestled among towering hemlocks and fragrant cedars, this private cottage on Kennisis Lake is at the heart of Ontario’s vacation paradise.
Our northern getaway has a great view of the lake from the walk-out deck, plus patio furniture and BBQ for outdoor dining. If a casual family holiday is what you’re after, cookouts, canoeing, soaking in the sun on the dock till sunset, cozying up with a book on the lookout deck; if you like the idea of a ground floor bedroom, a loft and bunkie quarters, a spot ideal for fishing swimming and boating on a crystal clear lake, then this is the place for you. A level play area behind the cottage with a fire pit and oversize picnic table on a quiet back road, perfect for strolls and waking the dog.
Close to the marina and the Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve with its 65,000 acres of groomed trails for hiking and biking and numerous attractions including the world-renowned Wolf Centre and Observatory. And all within 3 hours of Toronto.
- 1 Queen bed (in loft)
- 1 double
- set of bunks (in bunkie)
- 2 pullout couches (1 is in bunkie)
- 1 – 3 piece bath
My family and I stayed at this cottage for a week in August, 2011, and found it to be perfection. If you are looking for a peaceful vacation in a relaxed atmosphere, nestled deep in the woods, this is the place for you.
We would love to rent a cottage every summer for a week. It is the start of a new tradition for us.
