Looking for a roomy, rustic cottage in a very private setting at one of Ontario’s top vacation destinations? Our unique hideaway is situated off a quiet back road on stunning Redstone Lake in the Haliburton Highlands.
Roughly 1/2 km of shoreline to explore and an an uninhabited island to paddle or swim to with a sand bar by late summer. The cottage sits a mere 30-40 feet from shore and is flanked by marshland, forest and caves, level to the lake with a small sand beach by mid summer (shallow entry all season).
The lot boasts a grassy play area and walking paths to the point. This property is a virtual nature reserve and Big Redstone offers 9 miles of boating pleasure, access to Little Redstone and a river into Pelaw Lake. Enjoy the untamed wilderness of uninhabited bays and breathtaking granite cliffs. And for the avid angler, Redstone boasts a glacial relic “Haliburton Gold” lake trout designated a heritage species, well worth casting out for.
Paradise Point has 4 bedrooms and 2 baths to comfortably accommodate 6+. Knotty pine, hardwood floors and vaulted ceilings in living room. Stone fireplace (some wood provided), balcony off oversize master bedroom. 4th bedroom with futon doubles as a lounge area, reading room with TV. Well equipped kitchen with microwave. Amenities include TV/DVD/stereo, small washing machine (clothesline), electric baseboard heat for those chilly autumn nights and fans for those sizzling summer days; propane BBQ, great lakeside fire pit. Cottage provides a canoe and row boat.
Despite the departure from civilization, there is cell service. We’re less than 10 minutes from the Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve with 65,000 acres of hiking and biking trails, a Walk in the Clouds canopy tour and the world famous Wolf Centre. Just 1/2 hour from town for shopping, entertainment and restaurants, and only 3 hours NE of Toronto.
