Just a few steps from the water, this private lakeside cottage with a large sand beach and Bunkie is situated on a well-treed lot with a flat terrain – ideal for children as well as grandparents. Truly, a unique cottage experience – walk out onto the deck and you’re just a matter of steps from the water’s edge. With southern exposure, you’ll have sun on dock till late afternoon. If you like sunsets, this is the place for you.
Kennisis Lake boasts miles of boating pleasure, uninhabited islands to explore, stunning vistas and crystal clear water for swimming. There’s a public boat launch on the Lake and a marina for all your watercraft needs, last minute supplies, and of course – ice cream! Just minutes from the 100,000 acres of Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve with its groomed hiking and biking trails and world-famous Wolf Centre.

I have been coming to Kennisis Lake all my life. “Kennisis Retreat” is one of the most tranquil places on earth. Waking up, going to sleep to sounds of nature, breathing pure non-polluted air…Whenever a need arises, management is there immediately to fix it.

You can’t have my two weeks of heaven, but there are 50 other weeks to choose from.

This cottage has a magical aura around the land. Waking up to a extraordinary view of the lake every morning was breath taking. The roads where great for motorcycling. I have never seen so many lakes. The beach was perfect for my grandchildren.

My husband and I share many fond memories of our repeated visits to Kennisis Lake. We were very lucky to have met Lea Harper through the Kennisis Cottage Rentals Inc website when we rented our first cottage with the company six years ago. We still remember jumping into the still lake on a beautiful Thanksgiving afternoon, and the paddling into the many bays on the lake. We also met Lea in person on our next couple of cottage rentals. Always willing to help us out, Lea would ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Well maybe I took advantage of her hospitality a bit too far when I knocked on her door one day, and asked if she could spare me some olive oil for a salad as I had run out. I returned to our rental cottage with enough olive oil for a buffet of salads! Thank you Lea Harper for helping us build great memories of our trips to Kennisis Lake.

THE EXTRAS

Microwave, coffeemaker, Toaster, TV (bunkie) for watching DVDs (no satelite), DVD player, Woodstove, fire pit and propane BBQ. Split firewood on site. Two adult lifejackets provided.
