This gorgeous waterfront 4-season retreat is a two-story dream cottage of pure rustic elegance, easily accomodates 8. Lovingly designed with comfort and beauty in mind, Moose Haven offers a spacious, fully equipped kitchen, a serving island and long pine dining table that overlooks the lake. Main floor’s oak with vaulted pine ceilings in the Great Room. French doors lead onto a wrap-around deck that affords a panoramic north-westerly view of breathtaking Kennisis Lake, ensuring fabulous sunsets. Sculpted stone staircase gently slopes to the shore. Watch the stars from cathedral windows in master bedroom or take in the evening air under the timber frame canopy of the ensuite porch.

All this on prestigious Kennisis Lake with its 8 miles of sparkling, pristine, island-studded waters, a paradise for trout fishing, swimming and exploring; just 3 hours from Toronto and minutes from the 80,000 acre Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve with its groomed trails and world-famous Wolf Observatory. We’re deep in the woods but only 25 minutes from shopping, golf courses and whitewater kayaking; and Kennisis Lake has a marina and small store for last minute supplies and all your watercraft needs.

Pets welcome

We had a lot of questions prior to renting the cottage; Moose Haven met all of our expectations and was a comfortable get-away for our group. The amenities were good and there was a lot of room for us to spread out and relax.

Being there during the low season in spring, the weather was not always ideal, but the cottage was equipped to keep us entertained indoors.

We really appreciated the flexibility shown in allowing us to check out later on our departure date to give us an opportunity to enjoy the sunshine that finally came.

THE WATERFRONT

All day sun at the water! A stationary and floating dock, perfect for lounging and deep water swimming. Secondary dock with swimming ladder in front of lakeside cabin has a small beach by late summer.
Aluminum rowboat, 1 paddleboard, and 1 inflatable kayak. Fire pit close to the water. 2 chimineas also on property.

THE EXTRAS

Two propane BBQs, propane furnace, wood stove, air exchanger, dishwasher, water cooler, freezer, washer & dryer, microwave, air fryer, central vac, wifi, large screen satellite TV with surround sound and full entertainment system. Woodstove (some restrictions apply).
