Situated in a sunset cove, in a hemlock hollow on breathtaking Kennisis Lake in the heart of Ontario’s vacation paradise, this charming 3 bedroom lakewood’s cabin – that comfortably sleeps 6 – may be just what you’re after.

Deep, clear water for excellent trout fishing, boating and swimming and a small sand beach by mid-summer. Cottage comes with a canoe for exploring these expansive, island-studded waters. Vacant lots on either side of an already large property makes this likely the most private spot on all of prestigious Kennisis Lake!

We had such a spectacular time I barely remember the weather. All I know is that we had days and nights packed full of hiking and canoeing, that we barbecued some wildly delicious meals, and that we fell in love with the cottage itself – it was precisely what I was hoping for.

Our lovely little cottage retreat with elevated pine ceilings in the living room, goes back two generations. A brand new stove and fridge, kitchen cabinets, and propane BBQ will make your stay pleasant and trouble free. Other amenities include a microwave, a wonderful stone fireplace, TV/DVD and ceiling fans for those warm summer nights – although, chances are, you will be spending your time out on the water or out enjoying the wildlife, far from the maddening crowd!

We’re only a few short kms from the marina for all your last minute supplies and watercraft needs. We’re just 3 hours NE of Toronto and minutes from the 70,000 acre Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve with its groomed hiking, biking and snowmobile trails and world-renowned Wolf Centre. We’re deep in the woods but only 30 minutes from shopping, gold courses, arts and entertainment;

THE WATERFRONT

Rugged shoreline. Small sand beach by mid-summer. Stationary waterfrnt dock and floating dock. 1 Canoe. Stunning view.

The cottage sits back from a dramatic rocky outcrop rising about 20 feet above the water’s edge. There are two routes down to the shore. One is rather steep and may pose a problem for those with moderate disabilities. A second, somewhat longer, route offers a gentle descent.
